PRE/POST FRENULOTMY BREASTFEEDING ASSESSMENT

Feeding a baby with Ankyloglossia (Tongue tie) can not only be painful but exhausting and emotionally draining.

Tongue tie does not always present itself as painful feeds, it can cause symptoms such as, prolonged feeding due to your baby being unsatisfied, frustration and nipple trauma. I offer oral assessments, and referrals for (frenulotomy) Tongue tie surgery to NHS service providers.

Once your baby has had the procedure its very normal to want the breastfeed to be assessed to make sure your on the right track. I offer this service to ensure you are well supported and that your baby is thriving well pre and post procedure. If your baby had been supplemented prior to the procedure we can work towards exclusively breastfeeding again if that is your wish.
